Morris Marple
Morris Marples (1901–1976) was born in Huddersfield, the eldest son of George Marples. He married, Olive Singleton, who drew the line illustrations in his book. In 1939 he was the headmaster of a Grammar School, at Newcastle-under-Lyme Staffordshire, and during the Second World War he was the squadron leader of the local air defence corps. He died at 1976 Pontypool, in 1976. He inherited his father’s research work on White Horses, continued the research, and brought it to a published form.
